These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of laroofshield.com and any related services (together, the "Site"), operated by LA Roof Shield ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Site or submitting a request through it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. What the Site is

The Site publishes general information about residential roofing in California and operates a free matching service. You describe a roofing need; we transmit that request to one or more independent roofing contractors who serve your area; those contractors may then contact you directly. That is the entire scope of the Service.

2. No contractor relationship; no agency

1. We are not a licensed contractor and do not hold a California Contractors State License Board ("CSLB") licence in any classification, including C-39 (Roofing).
2. Contractors referred through the Site are independent third-party businesses. They are not our employees, agents, partners, joint venturers or representatives, and we are not theirs. No contractor has authority to bind us, and we have no authority to bind any contractor.
3. We do not act as your agent, broker, adviser, insurance producer or public adjuster.
4. We do not participate in, price, schedule, supervise, inspect or accept any roofing work.

3. No warranty regarding contractors or listed businesses

1. We make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding any contractor or listed business, including as to licensing, bonding, insurance, workers' compensation coverage, qualifications, availability, honesty, pricing, timeliness, safety, workmanship, code compliance, warranty performance, or the results of any work.
2. Inclusion in the directory, appearance in search results on the Site, or referral through the matching service is not an endorsement, certification, recommendation or vetting of that business.
3. You are responsible for verifying any contractor before you hire them. At a minimum, verify the licence at cslb.ca.gov (roofing is classification C-39), confirm the licence is active with a current bond and workers' compensation coverage, confirm that the name on the licence matches the name on your contract, and obtain a certificate of insurance.
4. We are not responsible for any act or omission of any contractor, including defective work, property damage, personal injury, delay, non-performance, overcharging, unlicensed activity or fraud.
5. Any dispute arising from work performed is between you and the contractor. Complaints about a California contractor may be filed with the CSLB at cslb.ca.gov.

4. Business listings, ratings and reviews

Where business listings, ratings, review counts or review excerpts appear on the Site, they are supplied by Google and are displayed for informational purposes only, with attribution. We do not author, solicit, edit, filter or incentivize reviews, and we do not publish fabricated ratings, review counts, testimonials or performance statistics anywhere on the Site. Third-party data may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate, and the absence of a business from the Site means nothing about that business.

5. Informational content is not professional advice

Guidance published on the Site — including material about California building code, Title 24 energy requirements, Chapter 7A wildfire requirements, CSLB licensing, insurance claims and repair methods — is general information only. It is not legal, insurance, engineering, financial or professional advice, it may not reflect the most current law or local amendment, and it may not apply to your property. Building code requirements and fire-hazard designations are set and interpreted by your local building department, which is the authority for your property. Always confirm with a qualified licensed professional and your local jurisdiction before acting.

6. Submitting a request

1. You must be at least 18 years old and the owner of the property, or authorized by the owner, to submit a request.
2. You must provide accurate information and a telephone number you are authorized to give consent for. Do not submit another person's telephone number.
3. By submitting the form and checking the consent box, you give prior express written consent to be contacted by LA Roof Shield and its partner contractors at the number provided, including by automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or prerecorded voice and SMS, even if that number is on a Do Not Call registry. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You may revoke consent at any time by any reasonable means — see the Privacy Policy for the specific methods.
4. Submitting a request does not guarantee that any contractor will contact you, quote your project, be available, or agree to perform work.
5. Your information will be shared with contractors. Under the CCPA/CPRA this may constitute a sale or sharing of personal information; you may opt out at any time — see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.

7. No fee to you; how we are compensated

Using the Site and requesting quotes is free to you. We may receive compensation from participating contractors for referrals or advertising. That compensation does not form part of, and does not increase, any price a contractor quotes you, because we are not a party to your contract. Compensation may influence which businesses participate in the matching network; it does not cause us to publish false information, fabricate reviews, or represent any contractor as vetted when they are not.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; submit false, fraudulent or third-party contact details; scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download Site content except as permitted by our robots.txt; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system; interfere with or overload the Site; reverse engineer any part of it; use the Site to send spam or unsolicited communications; or use any automated system to submit requests.

9. Intellectual property

The Site's text, layout, design, compilation and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Third-party business names, marks and content — including data supplied by Google — remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and attribution only. Nothing on the Site grants any licence to use any third-party mark.

10. No affiliation with prior use of this domain

LA Roof Shield is an independent brand. We are not affiliated with, successors to, or authorized representatives of any business that may previously have operated under or used this domain name, and we make no claim to any such business's licences, credentials, history, personnel, address or telephone number.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND THE SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION ON IT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LA ROOF SHIELD AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR PROPERTY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE, THE SERVICE, OR ANY WORK PERFORMED OR NOT PERFORMED BY ANY CONTRACTOR, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, where such exclusion is not permitted.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LA Roof Shield and its officers, members, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, your submission of another person's information, or any dispute between you and a contractor.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. This clause governs disputes with us only; it does not apply to any dispute between you and a contractor, which is governed by your contract with that contractor.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will change, and material changes will be indicated on this page. Your continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance.

16. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
